Freedom From Pain
Pain is experienced as much in the mind as in the body. You can learn to
control or even eliminate that pain by mastering simple techniques of self-hypnosis. Clinical hypnotherapist David Botsford provides the facts you
need to know about pain and takes you step by step through methods of achieving relief from it. Here's what other listeners have said:

What the press says:
"Freedom from Pain - self-hypnosis CD set
This two CD pack comprises talks and guided exercises by clinical hypnotherapist David Botsford. He speaks against a background of baroque
music played by the Hypnotic Orchestra. Botsford aims to enable listeners to
free themselves of physical pain by encouraging states of deep relaxation.
He maintains that we take control of the physical pain we feel by hypnosis techniques, he claims 'the listener can enter a trance state,
communicate with the unconscious, and develop a solution'.
I soon found myself warming to Botsford's steady rhythmic tone. I was impressed by the range and power of the imagery and techniques used in the
exercises. I liked the exercise in which Botsford asks us to focus on the
part of our body that feels most pain-free, and then to become aware of the
feeling of relaxation spreading to other parts of the body. I experienced a
definite lessening of the discomfort in my hip.
Given that I have listened to both CDs - a total of two hours and 36 minutes playing time - only once, I think it is difficult to assess just how
beneficial a CD like this can be for pain relief. I have not, as yet, found
a solution for my pain. However, Botsford does suggest that the more we
listen to the tapes and practice the techniques, the more we will experience
the benefits. At the same time, in the accompanying brochure he strongly
recommends 'that the listener seek professional medical advice about any
condition from which he or she is suffering before using this CD set'.
My verdict - this is relaxing, and can induce a positive frame of mind.
Yes, I would buy it.

Here's what other listeners have said:
"I was orignally diagnosed with Hodgkins
Lymphoma March 2003, which meant I had to have 3 months of chemotherapy. During the treatment I
tried the "Freedom from Pain" CDs, which helped me to relax, forget about the treatment and feel more energetic.
Unfortunately, 9 months after finishing the initial treatment, the cancer has
relapsed and I have to be given a higher dose chemotherapy. After the first
dose of treatment I felt tired, had acid and my breathing felt heavy and irregular.
I started using the self hypnosis CDs again. This time round the CDs made a big difference, they helped my breathing feel normal, made me feel
deeply relaxed and most importantly, are helping me to keep a positive outlook on things."
Mr Hitesh Arjan, Neasden "Many thanks for your helpful
CD. I find your CD very effective in helping me to relax and "let go" of the stiffness and pain associated with the
rheumatoid arthritis I have suffered from for thirty years. Also, your breathing technique appears to help the
bronchioctasis in my lungs, which is
a great blessing."
Mrs Lynne O'Callaghan, Wembley.
"I am delighted about this product. Having heard it, I feel a bit drowsy,
relaxed and in no pain."
Mrs Kaija Hinkley, London
